The As-Is System is the current existing system.
The To-Be system is the desired new system.
There is a gap between the As-Is and the To-Be system.
The role of the system analyst is to define and analyze the problems in the As-Is system and design how to transform the system from As-Is system to the To-Be system.

很多讀者來信，憂慮電腦日新月異，新產品不斷推出，會否
學來學去都跟不上？事實上，電腦方興未艾，新意念極多，
創意甚廣，但它只是輔助我們日常事務的工具，實用便 可，
無須受廠商愚弄，老買新貨。反思電腦的定義，分廣義和狹
義。大多數人只知狹義！

狹義上，電腦是一部?自動?數碼式?處理資料的?電子?機器。
何謂自動？電腦只因注入了事前編訂好的程式，方能作動，
所以實應稱為人動。何謂數碼式？查電腦傳遞訊息的方法乃
靠無千無萬的開關電源。以數學演譯，開為１，關為０。既
然只有此兩個數字，故可用二進制數碼代表。其他三個份子
，想大家亦明，不用細表。

廣義上，電腦不單止是一副機器，我們應該稱之為電腦系統
！它包含五大部份，缺一不可：(1)硬件 (2)軟件 (3)人事 (4)
工序 (5)數據。

一針見血，硬件即機器，乃電腦系統的實物部份。

軟件為電腦程式，亦即是電腦系統的無形部份。就算閣下擁
有一個頂尖的電腦，而且也安裝了最強勁的電腦程式，倘若
無適當人才操縱，又有何用？

這裡所謂人事，其實包括一切與該電腦有直接或間接關係的
人，即上至老板、下至小文員以至尊貴的客戶。

就算無電腦，公司亦依然運作。

工序即為事務活動。電腦只是幫助我們將處理好的數據變成
報告，始終都要由人分析才有用。

There are many aspects of ethics, the philosophical side, the legal side, the social side, and the technological side. In this course, we concentrate on the ethics from technology to computers.

And, computer ethics concern with __________________

In our curriculum, we look at ethics in the following perspectives, the legal, financial, and social responsibilities of an IT professional. We try to investigate how the well known professional bodies like ACM, BCS, HKCS, IEEE, and the Intellectual Property Society of Hong Kong look at it in their code of ethics.
